The transition from the structured support of K-12 special education into higher education and the adult workforce presents significant challenges. Often termed the “service cliff,” students leave behind the protections of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and enter an environment requiring intense self-advocacy. While an estimated 15 to 20 percent of the general population is neurodivergent, post-graduate unemployment rates remain disproportionately high.
